Dr. Frank Arpan, the newest President of Haskell Indian Nations University, will be joining us this week. Dr. Arpan is a member of the Yankton Sioux Tribe and joined Haskell University in May, 2022. Dr. Arpan previously held a position as the Dean of Academics at Sisseton Wahpeton College in South Dakota.

Weekly Speaker; Scott Sewell and Andrew Holt
This week we’ll be honored to have Scott Sewell, Director of Kansas Main Street at the Kansas Dept. of Commerce and Andrew Holt, the new Executive Director of Downtown Lawrence, Inc. (DLI) presenting to us.
Scott and his co-workers at Kansas Main Street offer programs which provide resources for revitalizing and preserving downtown areas. Andrew became the Executive Director in May, 2023, taking over for longtime DLI Executive Director Sally Zogry.

Lucinda Adams’, Executive Director of Freedom’s Frontier, will provide an overview of her work to preserve stories from the Kansas and Missouri area from years past. “Adams has over 20 years of experience in the field of history and historical preservation. She joins Freedom’s Frontier NHA from the State Historical Society of Missouri where she was Associate Director since 2014. There, Adams led a multiyear strategic plan, managed a 16,000 cubic foot archival collection, and successfully completed a multi-million-dollar capital campaign.”
