Maggie Chipman and LCC Member Kate Campbell will be our speakers this week!

Tom Harper, local real estate agent and member of Lawrence Modern, joins us to provide information about their goal to “raise awareness of midcentury and modern architecture in Lawrence and promote its preservation to ensure that future generations of Lawrencians will have significant examples to appreciate and/or live in”.

For those with a sweet tooth, join us for a presentation from Lori Hanson with the Girl Scouts of Northeast Kansas and Northwest Missouri. We’ll even have a cookie tasting! (everybody knows the thin mints are the best…!)

This week we’ll be joined by three members from the United Way of Kaw Valley – Angel Romero, Judy Riling, Kathy Smith – to learn about their important work to help individuals and families succeed with their lives.

Christina Castellano, CEO of the Topeka Zoo, will provide the club with important information about the zoo and their mission of wildlife conservation and education!

Misty Bosch-Hastings, Director – Homeless Solutions, with the City of Lawrence will speak to the club about her work to help those living without shelter in our community.

Lt. Landon McClintock with the Salvation Army of Douglas County will join us to provide an overview of the services the organization offers to the Douglas County community.

Join us for a talk with Kaitlyn Peine, Community Health and Wellness Agent for K-State Research and Extension Douglas County, as she talks about the Community Health Improvement Plan (CHIP) for 2024-2029 which is a plan meant to work on reducing the food uncertainty for members of our community.

Involved with aviation for over fifty years in a variety of careers, including as a flight test engineer and test pilot, Ron Renz will join us to give a presentation about his experience flying the North Atlantic!
